National Volunteers Week – 1-7 June 2026
It’s National Volunteers Week this week and this is the time when we celebrate the fantastic contribution millions of volunteers make across the UK through volunteering in their communities. Read on to find out what we are celebrating at Penicuik Storehouse….
We currently have over 70 volunteers
Over 25 of our volunteer Additional Support Needs (ASN) volunteers
4 of our ASN volunteers have gone on to do college courses over the past year
9 volunteers are volunteering with us as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award
4 volunteers are working towards their Saltire Awards
This Year #iWill Movement is a key Ambassador for National Volunteers Week. The Movement champions the benefits of youth social action and highlights the opportunities for young people to participate in their communities.
At Penicuik Storehouse our volunteering opportunities are open to anyone from age 13 years old upwards. While volunteering in our shop or café, you can expect to learn valuable new skills, gain confidence and build experience while giving back to your local community – what’s not to like?!
We are open to all ages and backgrounds and are proud to be an inclusive organisation.
